Alzheimer's disease(AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with insidious onset, known as senile dementia. AD patients can have memory disorders, aphasia, use disorders, cognitive disorders, visual spatial skills disorders, executive dysfunction, personality and behavior changes. At present, searching for effective ways to prevent and treat AD from the aspect of traditional Chinese medicine has become the main trend of domestic research, among which acupuncture treatment has attracted more and more attention from scholars because of its features of cheapness, safety and significant curative effect. Most physicians believe that the treatment of AD should be based on the basic principles of reinforcing the kidney and filling essence, nourishing the marrow and filling the brain. Therefore, this paper summarizes the recent research data on the treatment of AD by Acupuncture with the method of " Reinforcing Kidney and Regulating Du Vessel " in order to explore its mechanism of action in the treatment of AD and provide theoretical basis for the future treatment of AD by acupuncture.
