Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) holds that TCM constitution is closely related to health status. The constitutional types of Chinese medicine determine the susceptibility of some pathogenic factors and the tendency of disease types. The researchers showed that the rate of damp-heat constitution is the second of the biased constitution, which is correlated with the diseases, such as acne, eczema, constipation, fatty liver, diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia. It is of great significance to understand the risk factors of damp-heat constitution for the prevention of suboptimal health status and disease. Based on the theory of TCM constitution, this article discusses the correlation between damp-heat constitution and lifestyle through analyzing the literature of TCM ancient books and modern researches, and finds that diet, exercise and sleep are the main factors influencing the damp-heat constitution. Therefore, guiding the way of life by judging the TCM constitution and adjusting the biased status of damp-heat constitution by controlling the risk factors and correcting unhealthy lifestyle is conducive to the prevention of suboptimal health status and related diseases, which promotes the health of human.
